Penygawse is a grade II listed Georgian townhouse situated on the A40 in Llandovery centre. The property has housed many businesses over its' c.300 year history and is now run by Allan & Lynne Stather and their team as a 4* guest house and Victorian tea rooms.

The guest house comprises 7 bedrooms:

Our family room can sleep 6 comfortably, it has a 6' wide bed for couples looking for luxury. There is a 28" colour TV, DVD player and the en-suite has a 'victorian' roll-top bath.

Bedroom 2 has a 6' wide zip & link superkingsize bed which can be unzipped into two 3' wide beds. It also has a colour TV and DVD player. The en-suite is equipped with a bath so you can soak after the days exertions.

Bedroom 3 is at the rear of the property and has views across the valley. The room is fitted with a TV and DVD player. The en-suite has a spacious and powerful tower shower.

Bedroom 4 has views towards Llynwyrmwydd estate, the new home of HRH Prince of Wales, to the South. The room can sleep 3 comfortably or makes a spacious double/twin. A 17" LCD TV & DVD as well as a full en-suite bathroom make for a relaxing stay.

Bedroom 5 also enjoys the views of room 4 across rolling countryside. The room has a single bed as well as an LCD TV & DVD player and the en-suite contains a deluxe shower system.

Bedroom 6 has a king-size bed as well as LCD TV & DVD player. The room contains a hidden passageway to the adjacent property dating from around 1820 when Penygawse operated as a funeral directors

Bedroom 7 is a double and is situated at the rear of the property. This room also contains an LCD TV & DVD player. There are several exposed beams within the room and the ceiling slopes so much in the room that we have fitted a japanese-style bed to allow for the limited headroom above.

As you would expect in a Georgian house the rooms are large and airy, they have been tastefully restored and decorated in keeping with the history of the property.

We are also centrally located within the town and as such there are numerous restaurants and public houses within 5 minutes walk of the property. The train station is a ten minute walk away which affords travel to and from London (via Swansea). This route also runs north to Shrewsbury along the Heart of Wales railway line ( a great day out)!!

Our Victorian tea rooms are equipped to serve you with a wide range of beverages and light snacks. The tea rooms have been designed with the age and character of the property in mind and we have been mindful of how we combine modern technology with 19th century dining - we appreciate all feedback!!
